My Llamad Up Weekend!!!!!!!!

My llamad up weekend is full of randomniss. First I went to music class, Yeah. Then I went home and I jumped on the trampolene. I played a llama game on the trampolene. It's called SUPER LAmA!@. He can eat grass at the speed of light. He can also jump higher then a cow!!! But theres one last thing about SUPER LAmA!@. His side kick is a lady bug!! Then I went to AIDAN'S CUBBIE HOLE ( AIDAN'S HOUSE) He was in a trance with playing ZoMbIeS. DA END

jude's weekend...

On Saturday, in the morning I wen't to my Nan's house to spend the night with my Aunty. It was a movie night so we had takeaways and finger food afterwards. We watched movies till 10 and then we played on the computer. Before it was bedtime we got a chocolate bar like they do every night and then we wen't to sleep.

In the morning we slept in for a while then Nan told us to get up and get ready for church.We didn't ague with her and we quickly got up.

After church we wen't to the park and then my mum came to pick me up. I wen't back home and my aunty gave me a early birthday present and I opened it! She said HAPPY BIRTHDAY and then we wen't away. I was so tired I fell asleep in the car!

On friday at 3.00 mum and i when to pick up my cuzen james and we when to wave frave and i- saw Hauraki and then i saw Cuibe and Whetu and also Mahena andi when on soumoking but when i got on ther it was nile time to go but it was stiel easy because i was king twice and the therd time it was time to go and then it was sunday and my brther came to see Dad and we had a lot of fun playing games on the computer estah when on friv and james when on ben 10  and i when on facebook and on facebook i also play games like icy tower snack pool and i also lisein to songs like all day by Cody simsen and one and on my mind and parrty rock anthemand next to you by justin bieber and crhis brwon.

My weekend was cccoooollll! I wen't to the park on saturday, and on sunday I wen't to my Nan's house. The park was the Esplinade with the birds in the cages. At my Nan's house we played games and I got to go on the computer! We played Monoply and I won! My brother had a accident. He's only 2 years old and he's learning how to go to the toilet. So when I asked he if he needed to go and he lied and said no. And a couple of minutes later he did one in his pant's. And poor Mum had to clean it up!

Dream classroom

first I would like to say that I totally agree with having a digital classroom. I love tecnologhy, and not having to work in our books is pretty cool! I have always wanted a laptop because I am hardly aloud on our laptop that we have at home. I am just trying to think because there is nothing negitive about having a digital classroom it is all positive! sm

it would pretty cool to have a digital room  because we could experiment lots of things about technology like ipads laptops and phones. it would also be cool if we had a digital room because we can contact others like freinds and family.the negative things would be that people would have to go home but they might not want to go home.another reason is that you can blind yourself playing on the technology to much.you can also get brain damage from to much technology too.oh yeah one other positive reason is that you can do your work faster when you type it down.

Daniel's thoughts - Digital Classroom

If everything was done by computer, no using paper or pens or pencils, it would be good because there wold be no more wasting pen ink or wood for the pencils.  A whiteboard computer would be cool.  You can use a stylis to make things happen on the screen, like a Nintendo DS.

A bad thing might be arguments over whose turn it is on the computer, so I would have a small class if everything would be on a computer so there wouldn't be fighting.  Only 6 kids in a class would be good because then there would be 3 buddy-up groups.

I wouldn't like to be in a digital classroom, not that much, unless I could have only a few classmates.

Digitial is AWESOME!!!

I would enjoy having a digital class room because I would be on the computers playing electric man 1 and 2 and other games i'm addicted to. BUT , what if we had to wait for teachers to give instructions and NOT get a turn on the tech stuff or we only got 5 minutes turn AND we had to had to share the computers with other people.Any way, it would still be awesome to have a digitial classroom.Why else should'nt we have a digital class room? no? not anyone? at all?.Aww who cares.So, another reason is that if we don't get a digitial class room,Every one wil be bored, sad, and even Angry!!.

It would great to have a digital classroom. I would always go to my desk to play box head and other stuff on the web, BUT what if there were a catch. What if there were 55 minutes charging, or what if they were cheap computers and broke down the second time you used it! Well anyway I think I have to think positive so, yeahhh. Ok moving on. It would be cool to have it, walls all robotic like! it would be great because we would go on  computers and laptops and maybe i pads.
but the bad thing about it is that you would have to go home and some people don't have
computers at home.and another thing that would be cool is that on your free time you
could go on fog or freeonling games. but another thing that would not be cool is that maybe
it mite have to charge for like 1hour and that stinks

TERM 2

Its been awhile since we've all been onto our classroom blog. Time to get back into Room 12. 

We are half way through term 2 already...before we know it it'll be the holidays again!! The year is going far to quick!

You guys have been working SO hard this year... some of us are into our second reading work book already (some of the other classes arent even half way through their first workbook. shhhhh dont tell them I told you) just goes to show how hard we are working. AND the best thing is everyone is making awesome progress with their reading. So keep it up Tremendous 12, Im so proud of all of you!!

What else have we been up to this term so far??

Ahhh that right we have been busy learning about famous artists.The 2 artists we have been focusing on are Picasso and Van Gough. 

Picasso was famous for his cubist style art where he would put many different angles and views into the one picture. We also looked at his "Portrait of a Woman" painting and some of his cubist style work..

Pablo's real name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Ruiz Picasso. A lot of the names are of saints and relatives.

According to his mother, Pablo's first words were "piz, piz", which is short for lapiz - Spanish for 'pencil' 

Some of his paintings are amongst the most expensive in the world.

Van Gogh was famous for his sunflower paintings and his "starry night" paintings. The most amazing thing about his "Starry Night" painting, which he painted in 1889, is that the stars are painted in the correct postion as they appear in the sky. Vincent van Gogh was born more than 150 years (1853) ago in Zundert, Netherlands (Dutch)

He had many jobs, such as working in an art gallery, as a teacher, in a bookstore and as a preacher.
Then, around 1880, Theo his brother, suggested he become a full time artist.

When he painted,Vincent liked to play with light and use loose brush strokes. He liked dark tones.

 We are becoming quite the artists in Room 12. Mr Nelson has started teacher us different brush strokes to use when we are painting to make our paintings a little more life like. I cant wait to see what masterpieces we come up with next week.

We've also been getting stuck into our inquiry learning this term. Our big question is "Where will our children live?" From there we got our subsidary questions "What changes are happening the environment?" "how are these changes effecting the world?" "what can we do to stop/slow down the process?"
Once we talked about our Hypothesis and developed our research plan we have been learning to take notes while researching.
We have been getting lots of helpful information from this great site called A Students Guide to Global Climate Change  

This week for inquiry we are going to learn how to create questions for an interview and interview Mr Wallace. He has some good ideas about whats going on in the world and how we can do our part to help out. After all he does take care of our school recylcing!!

Well I think its fair to say it has been a busy term so far with lots more to come.

Christchurch Earthquake

12:51 tuesday 22nd there was and aftershock in christchurch. Some people were stuck in buildings they were terrified and also frightened. Buildings were crumbling down and rocks were tumbling down. Some people had no food and hardly any water. People lost there homes and also losted their loving ones people also felt pain in side them.

trip to france

in april school holidays i went with my awesome friends paige,talisha,nichole,mrs harrison and miss hartley to france.We all packed our bags, they felt like big heavy elephants, and hoped in the air new zealand plane.We enjoyed our trip to france,'is it time to hop out yet' i said two hours later we finally arrived in france.Once we unpacked our luggage in the hotel we rushed out and went to explore the hole of france on a cruise ship.On the cruise ship we got entertained by games,dancers,and looking out at the bright blue sea.When we got off the cruise ship we learnt how to speak french in a french class.Now we could speak french to other people.After that we looked at diffrent kind of animals they were so cute,and kind i wanted to take one home.We totally went shopping in the mall.There were awesome cloths there,out we came spending $500 dollars on clothes and accessories.ZOOMING! on a limo we all went to a extremly flash restruant it was so flash a big meal and a drink would cost $90 dollars,but we ate there any way.All of us had an awesome time in france,but after that meal i ate i was very full my tummy was like as big as a rhinos tummy.It was like a moment we'll never forget even when where 60 years of age.jtw

On sunday my best friend Eleanor had a bake sale. She had it at her house. Eleanor baked muffins and cookies they all costed 1 each.  I bought one of each, a chocolate biscuit and a chocolate muffin.  In the chocolate muffin the chunks of chocolate were melted and warm.  When I got into the lounge they were watching cute win fail.  Cute win fail is funny there are three funny videos the person who puts them on the show he will say to one of the videos cute win or fail.

splash the year six boys jumped into the pool it not that cold I said mr saunders was counting down I had butterflis in my tummy three two one the year six boys darted though the water with only on thing on there minds first plase I was coming first year im of to a good start I had a quick look behind me and I saw my best friend trevorshane coming up behind me me and treor shane were out of the pool first it felt ass though I had no more air left in my lungs but couldnt give up now I was coming first

the best holiday ever

two years ago my sister and mum flew to fiji for a nice relaxing holiday. We zoomed to this fancy boat. When we got to the resort me my cousin went canoeing it was awesome. after that we went to our place it really cool. i throat i was going to die because the canoe was going out to sea but it did'nt and im still alive.the next day we went scoba diving it was awesome.i saw millions of fish tones coral. we went mini golfing it was hard but fun. my uncle loves golfing but he hardly goes golfing but hes prettey good.the next day we went to this pool across from there hut its really and fascinating and then we had to go back to home the end

Lee's 31st

Whoo! "Were going to a party,"my mum's friend Lee was turning 31 but she still looked youg for her age. When we got to there house there was hardley nobody there I think that we were atchelly the first one's there. "Hi Lee" I called out "happy birthday" as i gave her the presant. Next we played some volly ball then we ate some chippies and dip and we played while dinner was cooking. "can I help with anything "yeah but first you have to wash your hands" "ok" I said cheerfully. Next I helped with the potato salad. Then I started puting dinner on the table. after dinner it was cold outside, but we still played outside. Next we had dessert. After dessert we watched a bit of transformers and then left. Bye everybody I said goodnight they said back to me!!! SM

Recount Writing

For Written Language this term we have been learning how to write recounts. We know that a recount is retelling something that has happened, so we are writing in the past tense. We also know that our events need to be in the right order. We have been learning how to make our writing interesting by including lots of different language features like onomatopoeia (CRASH! BANG! ZOOM! SPLASH!) and similies, metaphors even alliteration.

Tremendous 12, look through your written language book and choose your best Recount to share and publish on our blog. Think of a title for your recount and remember to be cybersafe and only sign off using your initals.

Humpty Dumpty Challenge

Last Friday we had an Egg challenge..... for some of us it was quite the challenge.... Poor old humpty cracked before some of us even made it out the door. But we all had a blast!!

We only had 15 minutes to create a devise to save humpty from cracking when he went down the slide. There were a few hurdles along the way..... the crack in the slide didnt help but there were a few eggs that survived..... and well..... I think the pciture says it all for the rest of our eggs.

After our challenge we wrote a recount about what happened. We are going to put these samples into our sharing books at our first written language piece for the year.

INTEGRITY

For those of you who can remember (because your brains hadn't been melted from the heat in the classroom) yesterday afternoon we started talking about Integrity and what it means to have Integrity. After lots of discussion we decided it means to tell the truth and to say what you mean, it means to be honest, loyal and trustworthy! Phewww that's a lot of thinking we did!!
I then asked you what you would do if you found some money under the slide in the playground. That stirred up quite the argument! But we eventually all agreed that the right thing to do (integrity) would be do take the money to office or tell the teacher, not too just slip it in our pocket without doing the right thing first.

Term One Week One...Over ALREADY!!

Wow what a great start to the year we have had! Hard to believe week one is over! In just a short 4 day week back at school we've been swimming, started reading, writing, maths, brightened the room with our Name Art and got stuck into our Learning Community Unit. Central Normal is where the WISE kids are and already we've started working together as a team (Whanaungatanga), being honest with each other (Intergrity), listening to each other (Showing Respect) and completing everything to our best (Excellence).
Im really looking forward to the year ahead of us.
