Humpty Dumpty Challenge

Last Friday we had an Egg challenge..... for some of us it was quite the challenge.... Poor old humpty cracked before some of us even made it out the door. But we all had a blast!!

We only had 15 minutes to create a devise to save humpty from cracking when he went down the slide. There were a few hurdles along the way..... the crack in the slide didnt help but there were a few eggs that survived..... and well..... I think the pciture says it all for the rest of our eggs.

After our challenge we wrote a recount about what happened. We are going to put these samples into our sharing books at our first written language piece for the year.

INTEGRITY

For those of you who can remember (because your brains hadn't been melted from the heat in the classroom) yesterday afternoon we started talking about Integrity and what it means to have Integrity. After lots of discussion we decided it means to tell the truth and to say what you mean, it means to be honest, loyal and trustworthy! Phewww that's a lot of thinking we did!!
I then asked you what you would do if you found some money under the slide in the playground. That stirred up quite the argument! But we eventually all agreed that the right thing to do (integrity) would be do take the money to office or tell the teacher, not too just slip it in our pocket without doing the right thing first.

Term One Week One...Over ALREADY!!

Wow what a great start to the year we have had! Hard to believe week one is over! In just a short 4 day week back at school we've been swimming, started reading, writing, maths, brightened the room with our Name Art and got stuck into our Learning Community Unit. Central Normal is where the WISE kids are and already we've started working together as a team (Whanaungatanga), being honest with each other (Intergrity), listening to each other (Showing Respect) and completing everything to our best (Excellence).
Im really looking forward to the year ahead of us.
